HALVA

Halva is a delicacy originating from Near East. It’s widespread in Turkey, Serbia, etc. and in Serbia it’s been around since the days of the Turkish rule. The name halva comes from the Arab word halava, meaning sweet.
The main ingredients are tahini and sugar. Halva is a treat made from sugar and tahini (but mostly tahini).
Our halva is manufactured according to a recipe from the old masters, and up to code with the latest manufacturing standards.  It’s characterized by high quality and we make it in four different flavors: vanilla, coco, peanut and hazelnut.
Thanks to the presence of tahini, halva has a high energy value and contains minerals and vitamins. Orthodox Nutrition data recommends Tahan halva for fasting season, as a great source of iron, potassium, calcium and vitamin B complex. It’s common knowledge that sesame has the highest quantity of vitamin B of all known plants.

MULTICOLOR HALVA

This product is made by adding coco and it’s packaged in 100, 200, 300, 500 grams and 3 kg.

Presence off coco in halva gives it recognizable stripes that are hard to resist.

HALVA VANILLA

Halva vanilla is the so called white halva, manufactured in packages of 100, 200, 300, 500 grams and 3 kg. It has that pleasant vanilla flavor and a recognizable taste.

PEANUT HALVA

This type of halva is a combination of Halva Vanilla and whole peanuts.

It’s manufactured in 200 gram packaging.

HAZELNUT HALVA

This one is a combo of Halva Vanilla and whole hazelnuts. The product is made in tasty small cubes decorated with whole hazelnuts.
Box package weighs 250 grams.

TAHINI (Sesame paste)

Tahini paste sole ingredient is ground and pulverized sesame seed. The name tahini comes from the Arab word “tahinija“, meaning ground or pulverized. Market names for tahini are different and on our market we usually find it under sesame paste, sesame butter, taan, tahan, etc.
The process of getting tahini from raw sesame to its final product consists of a few steps: washing, peeling, baking and grinding of sesame. After the complete production cycle, we get a natural, healthy and nutritious product, with characteristic sesame smell and taste and without additives. Tahini is rich in phosphorus (P), magnesium (Mg), vitamin E and iron (Fe). It’s also a natural source of calcium (Ca). Thanks to its composition, tahini is beneficial to the immune system, a known antioxidant and anticancer, lowers the cholesterol levels, cleans thee blood vessels, regulates digestion and lowers the blood pressure. It’s used to make delicacies like halva, cookies and salty dishes like salads, meat or fish, sauces, etc.
In Alvasari, tahini is currently packaged in glass jars weighing 350 grams.

 

ROASTED SESAME

Our company takes first place in Serbia when it comes to production of roasted sesame for the baking industry.
Alvasari imports raw sesame seed from Sudan and Nigeria. Sesame is washed, dried and roasted.
Roasting is the crucial step in the production process of this product. Extremely high temperate (over 200°C) is the only way of conserving the sesame. The last step is to clean it.
Final product has a golden color. It’s packed in 20 kg sacks. The production of roasted sesame has found its widespread use in baking and confectionery industry.

WHOLE GRAIN SESAME

It originates from Nigeria and has found its use in the baking industry. The product is sold in 50 kg packages.

 

TURKISH DELIGHT (rahat-lokum)

The original name rahat lokum comes from Turkey and is most likely an adaptation of  the Arab phrase ????(?) ?? – ?????? (???? ???????), meaning pleasure for  the throat.
Turkish delight is a delicacy that’s been made for centuries according  to a traditional recipe in Turkey and Near East countries. The main ingredients are water, sugar, starch with the addition of  nuts, colours and aromas.
In Alvasari, the Turkish delight is produced in three flavors:
– Vanilla, in packages of 100, 200 and 500 grams
– Rose, in packages of 100, 200 and 500 grams
– Walnut, in packes of 100, 200 and 500 grams

HAZELNUT PASTE

Hazelnut’s place in human nutrition is completely justified.  It’s rich in vitamin B (tiamin, niacin, B6, folic acid), vitamin E and vitamin A.
Minerals such as iron, magnesium, calcium and zinc are also found in abundance.
100 grams of hazelnut has 565 calories and a lot of protein.
Alvasari can boast itself as a leader in the production of hazelnut paste. The nut is cleaned multiple times (skin is peeled off), it’s baked and roasted and that way we get a completely healthy and nutrient-rich product without any additives. The paste is used as a semi product in the confectionery industry for the production of chocolate spreads, waffles, chocolates, ice creams and many other hazelnut-flavored products.
Hazelnut is packaged in glass jars with net weight of 350 grams and plastic buckets of 18 kg.

DRIED PLUMS

Since 2014, Alvasari has started packaging dried plums of local origin.
They are packed in two very attractive packages that preserve its nutrients:
– dried plums with pits
– dried plums without pits
Packages weigh 200 grams.

PEANUT PASTE

Peanut paste is used in the food industry in production of snacks, cookies, etc. Peanut belongs to the family of legumes. It’s healthy as it contains minerals (copper, manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, selenium and calcium), vitamins B and E, fiber and phytosterol.

HUMMUS

Extremely healthy, depending on the spices used it can be a side dish or a meal of its own. This is a completely different spread/dip and contains only chickpeas, sesame and spices. Hummus is an Arab word for chickpeas. It has a lot of proteins so vegetarians use it as a meat replacement. Only 100 g of cooked chickpeas has almost 15 g of completely natural protein. The main ingredient of hummus is chickpeas.  As all legumes, it has a lot of fiber which helps regulate cholesterol, blood sugar and secretion of insulin. Regular consumption of only 1/3 cup a week is enough to benefit from its effects.
In 2015, Alvasari plans to put this well know oriental spread on the market in different combinations of spices and flavors.
